UC Berkeley’s 2025 Voyager Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to juniors Janessa Reyes (Asian American & Asian Diaspora Studies), Vinaya Sivakumar (Cognitive Science/Interdisciplinary Studies), and Annabel Gensler (Political Science) — left to right — who have been selected to join the 2025–2027 cohort of the Voyager Scholarship for Public Service (Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service) created by the Obamas and Brian Chesky, CEO and Co-Founder of Airbnb.

The two-year Voyager Scholarship provides scholarships of up to $50,000 to help shape 100 young leaders who can bridge divides and help solve our biggest challenges. The program offers students financial aid to alleviate the burden of college debt, meaningful travel experiences to expand their horizons, and a network of mentors and leaders to support them in their public service careers. Learn more about the Voyager Scholarship on the program’s official website.

The deadline for current sophomores to apply for the Voyager Scholarship will be in April 2026. Prospective applicants should make an individual advising appointment with Keila Diehl in the OURS National Scholarships Office.
