Sharon Lee : Knight-Hennessy Scholarship

Sharon Lee (’22 , Electrical Engineering/Computer Science) is pursuing a PhD in computer science at the Stanford School of Engineering. She aspires to advance the field of computer vision, particularly in understanding how humans cognitively perceive and interpret abstract visual concepts. Sharon has been a researcher at the Stanford Vision and Learning Lab, working on brain-robot interfaces, robotics, and generative models for images. In Malaysia, her home country, Sharon founded an organization providing accessible education to orphans. Since moving to the U.S., she has worked on developing physical science visualization tools for low-income schools at the Concord Consortium and has advocated for college student resources with senators at the Capitol. She was awarded the Cal Alumni Leadership Award and named a Siebel Scholar in the class of 2024.
