Roxana (Qinhong) Wang : Schwarzman Scholars Program

Roxana (Qinhong) Wang (’24, Comparative Literature/Ancient Greek and Roman Studies) is deeply enthusiastic about cultural heritage in its diverse forms, from objects and sites to languages. At Berkeley, Roxana led multicultural publications and founded a translation award. She has worked with institutions including U Penn and the Bangladesh Forestry Department to advise on managing tribal cultural resources and world heritage sites. Roxana’s writing has been published by the SAIS Review of International Affairs, Center for Art Law, and Eurasianet, among others. She has worked with ICOMOS to launch a UNESCO World Heritage Volunteer Initiative program and designed sustainable heritage advocacy programs at a Central American heritage education organization. She is the Vice President of a Europe-Asia student think tank and is founding an organization that promotes cross-cultural dialogue on cultural heritage. Since graduation, Roxana has been working in the South Caucasus region, conducting research and fieldwork in Georgia and Armenia. Believing that cultural heritage empowers positive social change, Roxana aspires to lead at the intersection of culture and international policy. At Berkeley, she received the Departmental Citation in Comparative Literature and the Chair’s Award for Distinction in Ancient Greek and Roman Studies.
